Web10 jan. 2008 · I am putting in a few terraces on this place. I leased a grader and am doing the work myself. The NRCS is going to design them and pay some for them. The plan is for 3 half mile long ones, but they said I could cut them down a little if I wanted to. Even though in the pictures the field looks absolutely flat, you can see how they will snake around. Webterraces. Description Terraces are earthen structures that intercept runoff on moderate to steep slopes. They transform long slopes into a series of shorter slopes. Terraces reduce the rate of runoff and allow soil particles to settle out. The resulting cleaner water is then carried off the field in a non-erosive manner. Benefits
