If you were able to reach the Mun, land on it, and return in 6k d/v with KSP 1.0, you should be able to do the same thing today. WebI cheat and use my launch stage to get a head start on Mun transfer, so I save some delta-V, and I use the transfer stage to do as much as I can after I get to the Mun (plane change, part of the descent burn).
